Care Instructions for Your Stained Glass Art
Thank you for choosing one of my handcrafted stained glass pieces. To help keep your artwork beautiful for years to come, please follow these care guidelines carefully.
General Care
- Handle your stained glass gently to avoid cracks or chips.
- Keep your piece out of direct sunlight for extended periods to prevent fading of colors if your piece includes dried/pressed flowers.
- Avoid exposing your artwork to extreme temperatures or moisture.
- Avoid suction cups, as they are notorious for falling.
Cleaning
- Dust your stained glass regularly with a soft, dry cloth or a soft brush.
- For more thorough cleaning, gently wipe with a damp, soft cloth using mild, non-ammonia soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
- Dry the piece immediately with a clean, soft cloth.
Caring for Patina Finish
- Your piece may have a patina finish (black or copper), which gives it a rich, aged look.
- Avoid rubbing patina finishes too hard or with abrasive materials to preserve the color.
- Occasionally, you can apply a light coat of car wax to protect and enhance the patina. Apply sparingly and buff gently with a soft cloth.
Caring for Silver Finish
- If your piece has a silver finish, it has been buffed to a soft shine.
- Avoid abrasive materials that can scratch or dull the finish.
- Regular gentle buffing with a soft cloth will keep the silver finish bright and beautiful.
